The Shepherd’s Hut (“Herrnhut”)

The term “Herrnhut” means ‘the Lord’s protection’ or ‘the Lord’s keeping’. The ‘Herrnhut’ is a contemporary shepherd’s hut nestled in the gardens of the Waverley Abbey Estate, just a stone’s throw from historic Waverley Abbey House, and across the pond from the ruins of Waverley Abbey. The hut is operated by the 24-7 Prayer Seed Community.

You are invited take space and to come away with God, to step off the front line of your busy life for some rest, quiet and retreat. As you retreat in the ‘Herrnhut’, or wander the gardens of the Waverley Abbey Estate, visit the nearby 24-7 Prayer room in Waverley Abbey House, or visit the nearby ruins, we pray that God will richly bless your time here with peace, refreshment and revelation!
